Hooch helped us recognize that when working with senior animals plans often change course as the neglect that many seniors endure in their lives leaves outward and inward scars - scars which can be hidden beneath the brave stoic creature that seeks human approval, compassion, and love.

Hooch thrust SAMA into its next journey... To provide a spiritual and peaceful haven in our home where senior animals can retire with the dignity they deserve.

The years of neglect inflicted on Hooch left him feeling insecure and unwanted. Those years of neglect weathered on his bones, joints, and spine. He suffers from severe bone deterioration and muscle atrophy. Hooch is currently under the BEST medical care with a leading rehabilitation center in Upstate NY. Together we are rebuilding his strength, replenishing his joints with much needed lubricants, and closely monitoring a sarcoma lump that was discovered most recently. Our objective with Hooch is to keep him comfortable and happy for all his days here on earth.

Hooch is the most loving dog who craves human attention we believe to surrender him to another family would only make him feel more insecure and unwanted. Therefore, Hooch will remain in our home as he already found his way into our hearts. We continue to work on building his confidence with weekly play dates with his dogie friends at day care and through his many daily walks. He finds happiness when eating his scrumptious dinners, napping throughout the day, hanging out with the kids, going to family functions and SAMA events, and snuggling every night before bed.
